RIP

The emotional response to the death of Michael Jackson is difficult to put into words.  On one hand, he was a very weird man who turned into a characature.  On the other, he was the icon from my childhood, one of the celebrities I was able to look to and go, “Wow.”

I remember his music video premiere’s on Fox.  They were an event, something everyone planned on watching and then talked about the next day.

I still have a hatred for Macauly Culkin getting to appear in the “Black or White” video.  It should have been me!

Free Willy anyone?

Even though his life went in a strange and awkward direction, I still had the respect and admiration for what he had done.  For his icon status.

His death is like someone very important to me died, which I’ll admit, I feel strange writing.  How can someone so famous feel so close to you?

MJ - RIP.
