About H. Alan Scott

H. Alan Scott is a comedian, writer, host, event planner and neurosurgeon based in New York City. Alright, so he’s not really a neurosurgeon. His one attempt at surgery ended in, well, pending legal action prevents further discussion on this issue.
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Scott was raised in a lovingly dysfunctional Mormon family from the right side of the tracks. This traditional upbringing has not prevented Scott from falling flat on his face time and again.
A diverse background of radical religious fundamentalism (his Mormonism), obesity (once weighed 265 lbs), a broken family (where’s Dad?) and homosexuality has prepared Scott for a fantastically successful career in stand-up comedy.
So then what makes Scott so optimistic? Drugs! Nothing hardcore though, strictly over the counter variety.
Scott’s comedy is tragically optimistic. No matter what stands in his way, the glass will always be half full. His infectious optimism offers a nice balance to the pitfalls he seems to encounter. He has performed at the Hollywood Improv, Comix, the Laugh Lounge, the Duplex, and various shady bars.
